Dewatering
AGT is specialized in studies on groundwater-related techniques. In the context of civil and hydraulic engineering projects, AGT is an independent office that provides objective and substantiated advice on complex and less complex groundwater problems. AGT also supports you during the entire environmental authorisation procedure.
Underground energy storage
In Underground Thermal Energy Storage (UTES) the subsurface is used as storage medium for heat and cold. During winter, summer heat is used to heat the building and in summer, winter cold is used for cooling. In this way energy is used both economically and ecologically. The two most common techniques are ATES (Aquifer Thermal Energy Storage) and BTES (Borehole Thermal Energy Storage).
Water management
Sustainable water management, climate adaptation and ecohydrological studies are complex and area-specific issues. AGT has the experience to investigate and monitor groundwater processes with the help of field measurements and numerical groundwater modelling.

Habitat recovery of the Kleine Nete
As a mandate from the Flemish Environmental Agency (VMM) in the frame of the LIFE+ project "Large-scale Habitat Restoration in the Kleine Netevallei", an ecohydrological study was made by AGT in the "Kleine Netevallei" area. The main aim of the study was to investigate which interventions in the water management contribute in maintenance and restoration of the groundwater-dependent terrestrial vegetation types. For this purpose, groundwater modelling and ecohydrological NICHE modelling were carried out.

ATES Chelsea Barracks Londen
'Chelsea Barracks' is an old military site occupying 5,18 ha in the City of Westminster close to the centre of London. The site is being redeveloped in several phases into an area with residential, commercial, healthcare and relaxation functions. An ATES system was installed between 2015-2018 for heating and cooling of the buildings. Upon completion, the installation will consist of 5 well pairs in the London Chalk Formation with an estimated flow rate of 153 m³/h, which makes it one of the largest ATES systems in the UK.
